The ISG & PDC Healthcare Extend Agreement

PDC Healthcare and the ISG extend their contract to provide hospitals with turnkey solutions for positive patient identification.

Shawnee, KS (PRWEB) February 18, 2014

PDC Healthcare, the global leader of innovative identification solutions, in partnership with Identification Systems Group (ISG), the nationwide network of local experts in identification, security and patient identification, have extended their contract to offer hospitals an effortless conversion from a human-readable patient ID system to a machine-readable bar coding system, providing a complete solution for printing patient identification that includes products, installation, training and support.

The ISG and PDC Healthcare’s long-standing partnership of six years has assisted hundreds of hospitals to implement automated identification systems to increase patient safety and workflow efficiencies. ISG specializes in matching hospitals with the ideal software, hardware and products that best meet their unique needs to seamlessly integrate a turnkey bar coding solution. As the bar code media experts, PDC Healthcare produces the industry-leading wristband and label media with unmatched printing performance, scan rates, comfort, and durability.

“The ISG provides hospitals with an easy path to automated patient identification to meet patient safety, compliance, and efficiency goals. Our focus on understanding and catering to the unique needs of each hospital to implement a solution, plus providing them with PDC Healthcare’s unrivaled ID wristbands and labels, helps hospitals capitalize on the benefits of bar coding, from improving patient safety and satisfaction to meeting regulatory compliance and streamlining processes,” said Tom Stiles, executive director at the ISG.

Using a bar code system as part of their electronic medication administration record (eMAR) system helps hospitals meet stage 2 meaningful use requirements established by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for Electronic Tracking of Medications. PDC Healthcare’s bar code wristbands and labels also meet the Joint Commission’s number one National Patient Safety Goal to “Identify Patients Correctly.” It also meets requirements of HIPAA for the protection of patient privacy, and the AHA to reduce the risk of lost or transferred data.

“This year is PDC Healthcare’s 30th anniversary since we invented and introduced the first bar code patient identification wristband,” said Tracey Carpentier, PDC Healthcare president. “In keeping with our history of innovation, PDC Healthcare continues to lead the way in developing next-generation automated identification solutions.”
