The goal of the ISG’s Five Year Plan is to stay ahead of competition by identifying trends that affect the technology we offer, the vertical markets we serve, and the solutions delivered by our member dealers. The ISG will use this plan when conducting business actions related to new partner development, new product releases, group marketing activities and member training. The end result will be a network of identification systems dealers that will be even better suited to consult on all areas related to identification, credential management, access control and tracking.
The ISG member dealers provide solutions to help identify people, property and things, and range from photo ID systems to metal plate embossing, access control systems to financial card issuance, patient identification, visitor management, and more. The kinds of identification products the ISG provides are also vast, and include plastic cards, fobs, wristbands, labels, metal tags, card readers, biometric scanners, printers, cameras, smart phones and more.
The ISG’s Five Year Plan identifies key trends and opportunities in the industry, new security challenges in targeted markets, and the specific actions needed to address them. The identification world is constantly changing and there are many new methods of identification in common use now in addition to the traditional plastic ID card. Some of the key trends acknowledged in the plan are Logical Access Control, Identity & Access Management (IAM), Smart Phones, Biometric Technology, Smart Cards, Tracking, Patient Identification, Industrial Marketing, and Financial Card Issuance.
Beginning in June 2017, the ISG began the development of this plan, following a tremendous amount of research, and leading to the formation of a member dealer committee to review and approve it. We thank the representatives from member dealers AAMSCO, Capture Technologies, Higgins Corporation, Jett Business Systems, and Smith’s Addressing Machine Services for their participation in this process.
